The Inspection & Planning Process
Easy clean completed a site survey to determine the scope of work and any potential issues within the confined space. A detailed plan was provided, which included, how the mixer would be accessed, and which rescue safety systems & equipment would be required, for our technicians to clean the bitumen mixer tank.
Client Expectations
- To remove the build-up of bitumen from the internal mixer & associated equipment.
- Look for damage and any report any potential issues within the tank.
- Provide a detailed report, including photographic evidence of before and after cleaning and provide future cleaning recommendations.
Services we carried out
A team of three confined space entry & IRATA trained technicians set up Tripod rescue winch over the entry point to the confined space for access, egress and rescue purposes. The team were attached to the winch and then lowered into the mixer. A confined space supervisor (Top man) was situated at the point of entry to supervise all the operations and for potential rescue purposes. The bitumen was removed by using chiseling methods and was disposed of into the site IBC. The mixer tank was left free from bitumen and ready for use.
